It's the mid-1960's, and in suburban America rock and roll rules. Cassie's older brother wants to be a rock musician; he thinks of little else. Billy knows who he is and what he wants; for Cassie life is less focused and secure. She has no idea what her future holds, and her present is consumed with the new man in her divorced mother's life, the man soon to become her stepfather.The Stepfather is a story of assumptions and expectations: some false, some fantastic, some unfair, and Cassie must find a way to navigate them all.
