The Scope of Academic Librarianship

With the growth of digital technology, the function of the library and librarian in higher education has been greatly extended as a number of issues have arisen. As a result of our technologically driven society, the role of the library and librarian has altered in recent years. This book focuses on academic libraries' mediating role in supporting teaching, learning, research, and innovation in higher education institutions in terms of collection development, positioning university libraries as research hubs, positioning as a hub for students' learning and success, technology integration and implementation, fostering diversity and inclusion, open access advocacy, accreditation, and quality assurance, library collaboration and partnership, and organizational development.
