The Role of Knowledge In Motivating Economic Growth

This study aims at examining the role that knowledge - as a multi- dimensional aspect- plays in economic growth in a sample of Arab countries.For examining the impact of knowledge on economic growth, Cobb-Douglas production function was applied for some selected Arab countries by using cross-sectional time series analysis (panel data) for the period (1990-2011) for 15 Arab countries that are chosen according to data availability and KAM methodology. Different arrays of indicators have been used as proxies for knowledge economy aspects and they are regressed against the growth rate of output per worker in these countries by conducting different scenarios.
