The Press and Abortion, 1838–1988

Originally published in 1988, The Press and Abortion, 1838–1988 looks at how abortion has been portrayed and reported on in the press over 150 years. It was hoped that an examination of abortion history as strained through the press may help us to understand more deeply the nature of the continuing warfare. The book has two subjects – abortion and the press – and its goal was to provide information that would deepen the level of discussion concerning both. A debate that continues to divide opinion to this day, the book reflects where we were for a moment in time.
