Life sucks for 13-year-old Daniel Ambrose: his mam's gone, his dad's a gibbering mess, and his bad behaviour lands him in a class with the geeks and nerds. However, when the school decides that Daniel is underachieving because he is under-stimulated, his substitute teacher takes it upon himself to help the class achieve their potential.
