In 1970, young Dave Lawson travels to 'swinging' Britain to shed the burden of a troubled youth. Recovering from a serious road accident in Scotland, he falls into an unlikely relationship and experiences first-time love and acceptance.

A year on, after an attempt on his life at a UK rock festival, that romance ends in a tragedy he fights to forget.

Dave returns to Australia and the turmoil of his past.

Yet, in the ruins of 197 4 cyclone-ravaged Darwin, he again finds romance and release.
