"The Other Side of Paradise" Grief-stricken, Dreama James, a young war widow reluctantly returns to Anna Maria Island to await the birth of her child. Following her parents' deaths, while she was still in grade school, Dreama lived in Coral House with Grandot, as she calls her grandmother, Attorney Dot Watts. As the years passed, she'd grown into a lonely resentful teenager rebelling against her grandmother's strict dictates and unbending rules until finally, unable to resolve their frequent conflicts, Dot had exiled Dreama to a private girl's school in Ohio.After meeting Travis James, Dreama dropped out of college to marry him, and until his death while serving in the National Guard, she'd never looked back. Now, once again she's living in the same house with Grandot. In an attempt to mend old resentments and hurt feelings...these two women struggle to change both their mindsets, and the way they interact with each other as they fight TJ's parents for custody of Dreama's unborn child. She renews friendships with childhood friends; yet after the birth of her child she's fearful of losing custody.
