The Old Man in the Hospital

Another short true simple memoir from my life. In this short story, after retiring from the Marines, I find myself stuck in the hospital, sharing a room with an irate and bitter old man. Maybe, just maybe I needed to be stuck with him and he needed to be stuck with me. I wrote this short story as a tribute to all those care-providers, nurses, doctors, and health care heroes and cheerleaders out there doing a thankless yet entirely important job to help us recover, liver better, heal, and get stronger.
