The perfect job could turn out to be the perfect nightmare. Highwood Hall, the stunning stately home owned by the Howard family, needs new help, and Ruby Dean is more than happy to step up to the plate. A recovering addict, Ruby is on a mission of rebuild her life, and as the family’s new maid, she’s soon on track to do just that. At first the job is everything she could ask for. Great wages, accommodation provided and a beautiful place to call home. But it soon becomes clear that the new position isn’t what she hoped for. The strict housekeeper keeps an ever-watchful eye on everything she does, the Lord’s son takes an uncomfortable interest in her and, at the end of her first day, she finds a disturbing package left just for her. But despite knowing what’s bad for her, Ruby can’t seem to leave.
