"The History of Ukraine and its People» - is a book by the outstanding Ukrainian and Russian historian and ethnographer Aleksandra Yephimenko, which covers a huge period in the history of Ukrainian people: from the ancient times till the end of the XIX century. The first chapter is dedicated to the period of Kiev Russia, it describes in details the Slavic tribes, which inhabited the shores of the Dnieper. The two second chapters are dedicated to the history of Russia under the government of the Lithuanian princedom and the Polish gentry, the forth narrates about the state of Ukrainian lands during the ruling of Bohdan Khmelnitsky and the following it epoch of "Ruins» (the second part of the XVII century), the fifth and the sixth chapters describe the development of the Ukrainian lands in the ?VIII – XIX centuries. This book will be interesting for the historians, ethnographers, cultural specialists, philologists and all the people interested in the questions of the appearance and development of the Ukrainian nation.
