Five years have passed since the guns fell silent upon Earth. Together, the peoples of the Skendri Confederation, the Nihanese Empire, and the Slaadikaar Holy Order struggle to repair the devastation wrought by the horrific conflict. However, for some people, learning to live with their former mortal enemies proves to be too difficult. Elsewhere, the diplomat Aikawa Riko is sent to try and negotiate peace between the warring Faan and Gaarthim species, only to discover that strong passions are an imposing barrier between them. And, overshadowing all of this is the onrushing menace posed by the dark hordes of the Guareg. It appears that the scheming Admiral Dormuz will have his vengeance after all...even from beyond the grave.
