The Girl Who Found Her Name

HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD, 1990.

A teenage hooker, Silky is tough as the stone stars in the sidewalk where she grinds out her cigarette butts. One night a man named Charlie picks her up in a fancy car. He does not want sex, but offers her a lot of money to for her story. Silky reluctantly shares it with him: her tormented childhood, running away with her boyfriend, her job as a stripper with a fake ID, and her escape to Hollywood that landed her on the street. Charlie, struggling with his own tormented past, discovers that caring for Silky brings him healing. And when she begins to trust him, Silky learns that she can have a new place in the world and a new name.
