Hollywood comes to the High Lonesome to make a Western, but not all the showdowns and bodies that fall are make-believe.

Nick Drake confronts a double-feature of murder and mysticism when Sheriff Pudge Warbler enlists him to catch a killer among the movie stars and film crew turning Harney County into a celluloid version of the Old West. At the same time, he runs afoul of a sinister goldmining company after finding an old prospector shot in the back. The stakes couldn't be higher when the killers threaten Nick, his wife and daughter, and it's a fight to the finish or wind up buried like lost treasure.
