Francis Witts began to keep a journal in 1795 when, at the age of 12, he accompanied his parents and brother on a tour of Scotland. He continued to write a diary for the rest of his life. This volume covers the years 1795-1805, including tours of Scotland and Germany, a brief residence in Denmark, and his studies at Oxford.
