Thanking the Lord God on Two Special Occasions

Celebration of Thanksgiving Day originated with European settlers in north America as a harvest festival. The settlers first wanted to give thanks to God for their safe arrival in north America. Then they wanted to thank God for God's province, protection and victory in wars, religious freedom- to practice their faith and to preserve their traditions, and for the constitution for their freedoms. The initiative for the celebration came from Governors of the charter of the English setters, the Thanksgiving Day was to bw observed yearly and perpetually as day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.
