Thailand Folk Literature

As Thailand's writing was created late, folk oral narration is well-developed in Thailand. And folk literature has had a profound influence to the emergence and development of writer literature. This book gives a systematic introduction to the main contents and characteristics of Thailand's folk literature in chapters on its history, culture, myth, folklore, folk tales, folk songs, idiom and riddles, folk vocal arts and drama, and compilation and study of folk literature. In addition, it will present a complete picture of Thailand's folk literature by illustrating the relations between its folk literature and religion, and that between its custom and writer literature, with examples.
