It's not important that I welcome you, nor is it necessary that you welcome me warmly. Let's agree on what will happen. I'm here to write, and you're here to read. You don't have to like what I say, and I don't have to bother myself with putting up with you, so let's dispense with the pleasantries. I'm a rigid old man of the kind that no one likes, and you're a group of curious young people of the kind that I don't like. This way, we've avoided the hateful formalities that people insist on using with each other. I'll give you the opportunity to learn more, but not from me, because I'm easily bored. You'll hear everything from them; they know everything because they've seen it with their own eyes. Don't ask me who I am. Remember, you're here to listen, not to ask questions. And if you don't like what you hear, go ahead and blow your heads off. It won't make a difference to me, just as it won't make a difference to you if my soul is ripped from me. So, we've agreed.
