Tar elf Toivo

Toivo, a young tar elf, secretly follows an elf study group into the Finnish forest as they begin to make tar from the pine trees within. But what will happen when a troublemaker tries to destroy all of the elves’ hard work? Come and join Toivo on his adventures to learn about the traditions of tarmaking in Finland.

Finnish people have been following the old method for making fragrant pine tar for hundreds of years. Even now - on summer days - you can go and watch traditional tar kilns being lit in Finnish forests and villages.
