Tackling Unemployment

Published as a companion volume to "Education and Equality", this text aims to explain the causes of unemployment and suggest remedies to reduce it. There is a strong focus on how unemployed people are treated and how this affects umemployment - including the author's recommmendation of a job guarantee for long-term unemployed people. Key topics covered include: the effect of unions and wage bargaining; the effect of low skill; and the possible role of rigid employment laws.
