The Fifth symphony by ?. I. Tchaikovsky was composed during the period of ??? - August 1888. The first performance took place in Petersburg at the concert of the Philharmonic Society on November 5, 1888. The author himself conducted it. Some time later Tchaikovsky demonstrated it in Moscow. That was December 10, 1888 at the concert organized by the Russian Musical Society.
The symphony seemed to excite the listeners right from its first performance.
