In this family memoir, songwriter and musicologist Albin Zak tells the story of his parents' unusual life together. Married as teenagers in the small Texas town of their roots, they drifted into a nomadic existence that took them to distant places. Along the way, they raised a close-knit family in often precarious circumstances, all the while growing up themselves. After decades spent setting up temporary homes in the US, Brazil, France, Algeria, and England, their odyssey led them finally to a permanent home in Vermont-Sylvan Hill.
