Sway to stay: Franca and Ed is the opening volume of a literary series that unfolds the lives of a diverse cast of characters. Franca, Ada, Ben, Isi, and Chris: five young people bound by a shared flat, by love and departures, and by the fragile attempt to hold their ground in a fractured world. They dream of closeness, of a home, of a future, yet again and again they find themselves up against walls of origin, money, violence, language, and fear. The story begins with Franca Albrecht, a young fashion student struggling to free herself from a destructive relationship with the charismatic yet controlling Ed Meyer. In parallel, we follow Ada Landau and Ben Adewale, a young couple taking their first apartment, stumbling into parenthood, and wrestling with the weight of structural inequality. Alongside them are Isi Sonntag, reinventing herself as a queer activist and content creator, and Chris Wolf, preparing to change both given name and legal gender marker - together forming the fragile, central constellation of the flat-share.
