Sunset on Ukraine

I travelled across Ukraine in August 2013, three months before the Maidan protests, without of course suspecting that this would be the last summer that this country would experience in its territorial integrity. The heat languished the cities. The beaches of Odessa or Crimea were crowded with Russian and Ukrainian tourists. But behind the carefree summer, we could already see the beginnings of the conflict to come. I brought back 73 films, i.e. more than 2,600 views, to finally select the 76 photographs that make up this book. - Thierry Clech
