Sun Also Rises

Barnes, a young American, was injured in his spine and sexually incapacitated during the First World War. After the war, when he was a journalist in Paris, he fell in love with Lady Brett Ashley, an Englishwoman. Lady Brett Ashley pursued pleasure all the time, while he could only drink to soothe his sorrow. The two and a group of friends went to Pamplona, Spain, to attend the bullfight festival in pursuit of spiritual stimulation. Lady Brett Ashley refused the pursuit of the Jewish youth, Cohn, fell in love with the bullfighter Romero who was only 19 years old. However, after getting along with him for a period of time, since the age gap between them was too large and Lady Brett Ashley cannot bear to destroy the future of pure young man, the love ended in a gloomy way. Lady Brett Ashley eventually came back to Barnes, although both of them knew that they would never really band together.
