Sugar, Ships & Slavery - Sugaropolis

Greenock, on the West Coast of Scotland earned the sobriquet of "Sugaropolis" as it was the major refiner of sugar imported from the Caribbean and the East Indies. This book details the history of the refineries and the people who owned them. Fully illustrated throughout, the book is the second volume in a new History of Greenock, called Sugar, Ships & Slavery which examines the source of the towns' wealth.
