The drug industry is probably the most profitable in America. This includes prescribed and street drugs. Parents and families, we must educate ourselves.

Our involvement and serious engagement with our children are necessary. The young people you see in the schools, universities, churches, synagogue, and mosques, in both professional and amateur sports, need our engagement to help them overcome these overwhelming forces, isolation, pain, and mental illness that is driving them to self-medicate.

In support of her son recovering from Substance Use Disorder, Dr. Lazarus has embarked on extensive training in the disease of addiction and the damage to society at large and the unacceptable deaths of young people in America. She is determined to use her son's story and struggle, and the education she has acquired as a physician, to educate the public, families and schools about how we can all help kids at a point in life when they are most vulnerable
