Studies on Some Varieties of Stevia

Stevia is a new crop in the world. This plant is believed to be the most ideal substitute for sugar. The plant is becoming increasingly important in the herbal world. Leaves of Stevia rebaudiana contains diterpene glycosides which taste sweet but with zero calories. This plant is believed to be the most ideal substitute for sugar and important to assist in medicinal. In this line present investigation is initiated with the following objectives the present study was carried to establish optimal fertilizer levels and tested of varieties to achieve higher vegetative growth yield characters and chemical composition characters.
