Marcus Haley a sergeant with the sheriffs department resigns after being passed up several times for promotion, and losing his girlfriend Melody. He starts his own investigation firm Haley Inc Confidential Inquiries. The first cases he received were employers having their employees investigated for insurance and worker's comp fraud. The sheriffs department recommended people to his investigation firm who needed assistance in personal matters that was not criminal. After getting his firm off the ground, he decided it was time for him to start looking for someone to share his life with and raise a family.
