Drawing from her travels in 26 countries, Andrews presents a compelling picture of the universality of women's struggle for empowerment. Andrews has collected stories about the most serious issues in women's consciousness-raising. Among the stories are discussions of the value of women's work, violence against women's bodies, women in the Presbyterian ministry, sexual harassment, and women's peace movements.
