The novel is an autobiography of a woman who lives life with all its experiences and human complexities, with characters who bear enough human suffering, revealing the important aspects of each character. It reveals society''s view of women - and men in particular - as some support and appreciate them, while others exploit and try to enslave them, each in their own way.
