Shuo Yuan is a miscellaneous genre compiled by Liu Xiang in the Western Han Dynasty based on the royal collections and folk books. Liu Xiang "e;uses his writings as a letter of advice"e;, hoping to realize the political ideals of national prosperity and people''s security. In terms of style, it is similar to the later generations of Tai Ping Yu Lan and other books; Liu Xiang''s thought is Confucian, but Shuo Yuan is based on Confucianism, using Lao Zhuang, Mo Ming and Law, and it is more like a miscellaneous work; the form of expression is quite narrative, mostly dialogue, and many chapters can even be regarded as ancient short stories. The three complete version of Shuo Yuan was revised by the translator on the basis of his Shuo Yuan Quan Yi. There are a total of 723 articles in 20 volumes, and each serial number is arranged independently according to the volume, and 72 pieces of lost articles are compiled. In accordance with the style of the series, the latest research results have been absorbed. The original text of each volume has been added with a topic solution and a general introduction to the content of the volume; a large number of annotations have been added to correct previous errors; the translation has been adjusted and polished, , and the literal translation is main and the ideal translation is supplemented, and the language is clear and unobstructed.
