Shining a Light on (Her)story is a memoir that follows the life journey of a South Jersey women's rights activist. Woven into her personal story are the histories of exceptional and influential women such as Irish immigrant Mary Harris, slave preacher Isabella Baumfree (Sojourner Truth), Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Ida B. Wells, Pauli Murray, Alice Paul, and more. Gerda Lerner, the "e;Mother of Women's History"e;, said the women were kept in bondage to their second-class status by being denied education and denied their rightful place in history. Women have gained access to higher education and now we must restore history!
