Jaisey Connor's mother was taken from her in a moment of tragedy. After months of physical healing, Jaisey is finally ready to deal with her emotional wounds. She heads to her family's mountain cabin in Colorado for the summer. At the end of the summer, she would leave the mountain and begin her life anew. Of course, things couldn't be that simple. She finds herself in a world she never knew existed, falling for a man she barely knows.
Quinn Randall belongs to the Castlerock pack. They are the protectors of a power that, if unleashed, could bring back an ancient enemy known as the Shroud. His carefree days of playing with the younger pups in the pack are coming to an end as threats begin appearing on their mountain - along with a human girl that he is repeatedly drawn to.
Shift is a love story - pure and simple. Well, maybe not so simple once you add in everything that Quinn and Jaisey must go through to ultimately be together. Throw in an all-knowing Healer who never gives a straight answer, an ancient enemy, a teenage wolf that just can't seem to stay out of trouble, and a few romantic nights around a bonfire... well, things just might be more complicated than they appear.
