Miss Emily Jackson and her brown Burmese cat Mandalay are staying in the beautiful and remote Fell District, but even there Mandalay rushes headlong into trouble! Mandalay finds an injured Pekingese dog named Ching Tao, who leads Miss Emily to the precipitous edge of Dead Fell... and the body of an unknown woman.
