Serenade in E-flat major, Op.7

Written when he was only 17 years old, Richard Strauss' Serenade in E-flat major for winds has been a staple in the wind repertoire since it was premiered by the wind ensemble of the Dresden Court Orchestra on November 27, 1882 under the direction of Franz W llner. The Dresden performance also marked Strauss' first major premiere outside Munich, the city where he was born and raised.
