Rocking Alaska

Steven Fechner is a geologist who conducted geologic fieldwork in Alaska during the 1970s, 80s and 90s. He recounts how a person becomes a geologist, ends up living and working in Alaska and the various aspects of geologic fieldwork in the "Last Frontier".

The book depicts a geologist's life including living in field camps, prospecting, various methods of evaluating mineral properties and dealing with the dangers associated with the Alaskan elements. Personal stories about living and working in the "Land of the Midnight Sun" are also interjected throughout the book.
