The ROMAR handbook and workbook are each divided into two parts, the first covering principles and the second dealing with the practice of labour-based road construction and maintenance. The 'route map' in the section on 'How to use your ROMAR books' will help you to find your way around, and concentrate on those chapters which are most relevant for your own circumstances. The books can be used in the context of an integrated training programme including opportunities to work on pilot contracts under supervision, but they have also been designed in a format suitable for self-study.
