Revamped!

In a dimension not far from our own, spins Planet Heart, where Super Humans and Only-Humans inhabit a parallel version of New York City. It is no coincidence that Planet Heart's name is an anagram of Earth. Planet Heart is, in fact, a kinder, more innocent version of Earth, formed from a group of 1950-ish Abstractions from Manhattan that were floating about in the Abstraction Realm, about to expire. Just in time, a band of Living Thought known as the COGNOSPHERE surrounded the wayward Abstractions, providing them with a protective shield, while at the same time filtering out the worst of Earth's Very Bad Ideas. Under the COGNOSPHERE's supervision, the rearranged words, images and other concepts of Earthlings became the building blocks of new life forms. To this very day, magical beings like Wisdams and Physards, as well as Only-Humans, pursue their interesting lives in the great metropolis of New Broom, mostly free of Earth's bad influences. There is one life form, however, that did not originate on peaceful Planet Heart but instead sneaked in through a rift in the COGNOSPHERE. These aliens from Planet Durth are known as Vampires. This is the story of what happens when the powerful Vampire Veronique accepts an offer to become Heart's first Revamp, able to eat real food, go out in the daylight, and see her gorgeous self in the mirror, all while retaining her supernatural powers. At the time, it sounded like the best of both worlds. Only now Veronique finds herself feared and hated by Humans and feared and hunted by the band of Vampires known as the Blud Lusts. To make matters worse, her heartthrob Valentine has disappeared from the face of Heart. Things look up for Veronique when she is befriended by the teenaged Quantum Witch Aphra-Bane McCleary, who introduces her to a range of fascinating beings she has never encountered in her nighttime existence. But as Veronique is besieged by villainous Vampires she wonders if the loss of immortality is the price she will have to pay for her life as a Revamp. Join Veronique, Aphra-Bane and a large cast of characters, including the Vampire Voltaire, the floating head Copernicus, the Elf composer Gossamer Riddle, the Walking Skeletons Bones and Slim, the Elephant Flappard, the Manatee Serenia, the Gargoyles Hieronymus and Bosch, and a host of Wisdams, Physards, and Vampires, as they take on the problems of the multiverse--and the multiprose. Brit Ray is a writer and visual artist. At odds with Father Time and the existence of evil, she created the more user-friendly Planet Heart, where Wisdams and Physards help the COGNOSPHERE filter out Bad Ideas from Earth. Inspired by her native city of New York she has endowed the city of New Broom with mighty rivers and bridges, great cultural institutions, and a diverse and colorful citizenry.
