True story about rescuing a homeless street dog with an unknown past. This story is about the ups and downs of what it takes to undo a dog's fears and nightmares so that the dog becomes a relaxed, loving family member. First section is written in short chapters for juvenile readers and has pages of watercolour paintings. The second section is researched scientific information about dogs as the facts are understood presently. The third section is written for adults (parents), describing in detail the adoption of Millie.
