Removing the facade

Each section represents a phase in the writer's life. She was once diagnosed with depression and the section on 'Melancholy' speaks on that. Death is inevitable and sadly she lost her father and both of her siblings. The section on 'Anguish' touches on loss, grief and the pains of losing a loved one. 'Heartache' is unavoidable and this section relates to previous relationships and hurt she faced in those relationships. She also writes about controversial issues like drugs, hesitancy towards love, mistaking love for lust and being fearful of opening up. But we see a change as she nears the 'Companionship' chapter in which she finally opens up to love and realises that love is the answer to life. She removes the mask and shows us the deepest parts of her heart.
