Reluctant Bride

In 1895, innocent 20-year-old Angela is heading to northern Idaho for a job, accompanied by her ne'er-do-well father, Joseph. In Coeur d'Alene, Joseph steals a horse and wagon belonging to handsome, wealthy, and powerful Nate Erikson, but they are soon captured. Nate is mesmerized by the beautiful Angela, so when Joseph agrees to trade Angela for his freedom, Nate assumes Angela is a prostitute, unaware Joseph is her father. Angela reluctantly marries Nate to save her father from prison, and Nate takes her to an isolated log cabin by the lake, expecting a worldly woman. Nate is horrified when he realizes his mistake, and Angela is terrified and furious, refusing to allow Nate to touch her. Slowly, Angela grows to trust Nate, but she has no idea who he really is, and when he takes her home to Coeur d'Alene, she learns that the simple life she envisioned is far from the truth and that the rumors that she is a prostitute are widely believed. Can Angela learn to be a fine lady? Will she be accepted? Will Joseph continue to cause trouble?
