Religious freedom in Islam

This book - despite its small size - contains serious religious jurisprudence, and shows that religious freedom in Islam is general in inviting non-Muslims to Islam and in inviting those who converted to Islam and then apostatized. The author, Sheikh Al-Mu''ta''al Al-Sa''idi, preceded some modern scholars in favoring this ruling in inviting non-Muslims to Islam. And the author says, "And here I am in this book attaching to it the preponderance of this ruling regarding someone who converts to Islam and then apostatizes, and I thank God for granting me success in giving preference to this ruling in it, so that religious freedom may be a characteristic of the Islamic religion."
