First Published in 2000. This is Volume II of fourteen of a series on India- its language and literature. The following sketch of the Religions of India appeared originally in 1879 as an article in the Encyclopedie des Sciences Religieuses, which is published in Paris under the editorship of Professor Lichtenberger.
