Relationship between metabolic alterations in mammary carcinoma

Breast carcinoma is a multicausal disease. Metabolic alterations at the diagnosis of breast carcinoma were related to the clinical-tumor characteristics of the patients. An observational-analytical and cross-sectional research was carried out with 155 patients with breast cancer diagnosed in 2019 in Pinar del R o. The documentary analysis allowed obtaining demographic data and characteristics. Patients with overweight-obesity and normoglycemia were predominant. No association was found between high BMI and menopausal status at the time of diagnosis. Overweight-obesity was associated with the stage of the disease in postmenopausal women and represented a protective factor in relation to the estrogen receptor type of the tumor in premenopausal women.
