Red Sands - Part Two: Red Star

The revelation of a cosmonaut's cancer would bring forth sweeping changes to both author and friend. For out of potential disaster, two works would emerge,Kumazov, the space traveller would discover a creative passion, producing a novel of his own. A tale of the rocket engineers that led Russia into a major power in spaceflight. A world not unlike our own. Meanwhile, Zoyzuban would continue to devote himself into his craft, attempting to complete the literature he started decades prior. He would focus on Georgi's life in the 1970's, as he started a family, and experienced the loss of some of his good friends, including Komarsky, a victim of circumstance. All the while, the soviet space programme continues its progress, expanding upon lunar exploration, while preparing for eventual and manned sojourns to mars. The legacy of the fallen cosmonaut looms upon both men. Kumazov, and his continued descent into darkness. Zoyzuban, and his fears of further complicating his physically-ill friend's life. But when the author finally reads his fellow writer's finished work, the culmination of rivalry and legacy will bring forth the unexpected, and ultimately decide the course of action in their long journey. Friendships will be tested as the Red Sands Saga continues. A story a quarter of a century in the making.
