This volume comprises 18 papers, dealing with the application of economics in forest resource management, the wood processing industry and forest products markets. Within these fields, many different subjects are treated, all of them relevant to contemporary discussions of how to use forests and to some extent also other natural resources. Some subjects are treated at the micro- or owner level, others at the macro- or country, or even higher level, implying forest policy aspects. Many different analytical methods are represented, for example, deterministic and stochastic analysis; single- and multi-objective decision making; discounting; simulation; operations research methods; time-series analysis; and data envelopment analysis.
