Reaping day

Since the great accident no families are allowed. To avoid disease, all men are reaped and their sperm matched with suitable women. Auro spends ten days at the factory, then goes home to get reaped and rest, before going back again. One night he meets Embla, who tells tasteless jokes and can’t roll her cigarettes for shit. Together they break all rules, and soon Auro longs for a life he never thought possible. Reaping Day is a short story, also published in Swedish with the title Skördad.
