Rabbit Production in the Hot Climate

Rabbit production in the hot climate regions, is adversely affected by: exposure to heat stress, nutritional inadequacies, drinking saline water, diseases and parasites, high mortality, harsh treatment and lack of technical skill. Such conditions impair the rabbit productive capabilities and result in restriction of its breeding to be only during the mild period of the year. The present work highlights the results of our researches carried out regarding limitations of rabbit production in the hot climate regions and the possible solutions. The role of the current revolution in post genomic era, as well as, optimizing rabbit productivity, are discussed.
