The file contained the identities of government informants, but it disappeared during a secret intelligence operation. Soon after, several informants were killed.Years earlier, a young intelligence analyst named Adrian Nistor discovered that senior official Ion Dragan had secretly sold the informants' identities. Instead of exposing the corruption, Moraru, Istrate, and Colonel Mihail Lupan helped Dragan cover up the crime by blaming Nistor for the theft. Forced to flee, Nistor disappeared for twenty-five years.In the present, Nistor returns to Chișinău to confront those responsible. One by one, he kills the men who betrayed both him and the innocent informants. However, his goal is not simple revenge. Through the staged murders and written messages, he wants the truth to finally become public and recorded officially.After killing Dragan, the main architect of the betrayal, Nistor meets Victor Rusu at Valea Morilor lake. There, he explains the full story and insists that his actions were meant to expose corruption and force justice into the open. Unable to live with the burden of the past any longer, Nistor takes his own life beside the lake.In the epilogue, the investigation is officially closed, but the government quietly begins reviewing the old operations connected to the case. Victor reflects on the tragedy and realizes that although true justice may never fully exist, the truth has finally surfaced after decades of silence.
