History is the mirror of the times, the source of knowledge and wisdom, and the supporter of justice and virtue. It guides man that virtue alone begets greatness and respect, identifies for us the events that have passed, and restores to us kingdoms with their markings gone and decayed. So man sees the blood of the innocents and martyrs. History has made it whips for the truth with which he will beat the people of evil until the Day of Judgment, and stain their pages with it so that it will be an example to those who consider it. Likewise, when turning over his burners, he hears the cries and groans of the nations. Under the yoke of ancient slavery, he goes out and has committed himself to being a supporter of the human race and its helpers, seeking freedom wherever it may be, and extending a helping hand to those who ask for it, and also informing us of the conditions of the men of the past.
